Christy Carlson Romano Hospitalized After Getting Shot in the Eye

The Even Stevens alum revealed that she was hospitalized on February 7 after being shot in the face multiple times during a trip to celebrate her husband Brendan Rooney's 42nd birthday in Austin, Texas, where they reside.

"I took him to shoot clay pigeons as a birthday present," the 40-year-old shared on Instagram on February 8, alongside a video showing injuries to her right eye and forehead. "There was another party with us, and they fired unsafely in the wrong direction, hitting me in the face." Romano noted that her husband "immediately sprang into action," assessed her injuries, and rushed her to the hospital.

"I was hit in five places, with one shot landing less than an inch from my right eye," she explained. "Unfortunately, a fragment became lodged behind my eye, and it's too risky to remove it surgically at this time. Doctors will continue to monitor me (I can see normally for now)."
