Best red carpet looks at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards
After being postponed twice due to the wildfires that devastated LA last month, the Critics Choice Awards finally took place on Friday evening in LA.
Held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, just a few miles from the fire-damaged Pacific Palisades neighborhood, this year's ceremony was scheduled unusually on a Friday. The red carpet also deviated from tradition, with organizers announcing the cancellation of the usual televised pre-awards live show.
Still, attendees turned up in style. Similar to last weekend's Grammys, many opted for elegant, dark-colored gowns with understated styling. Cynthia Erivo, in a sleek leather Armani Privé look, and Naomi Watts, in a structured satin Prada dress, were among those choosing all-black ensembles.
The men joined the trend too, with Randall Park and Ewan McGregor sporting black T-shirts under dark formal jackets.
However, guests also added vibrant touches. Lupita Nyong’o wore a custom Chanel gown featuring a bright floral bustier peeking through black tulle, while Zoe Saldaña and Shōgun star Moeka Hoshi dazzled in stunning red gowns. Angelina Jolie and Ariana Grande also wowed in nude Elie Saab and Dior dresses, respectively.
