Lily Collins Welcomes First Child via Surrogacy

Lily Collins, best known for her role in Emily in Paris, has welcomed her first child via surrogacy.

The 35-year-old actress shared the joyful news on Instagram alongside her husband, filmmaker Charlie McDowell.

"Welcome to the center of our world, Tove Jane McDowell," the couple wrote, expressing their immense gratitude for their surrogate and everyone who supported them throughout the journey.

Their announcement included a heartwarming photo of their newborn daughter, peacefully sleeping in a bassinet adorned with her name, wearing a cozy woolly hat. They concluded their message with: "We love you to the moon and back again."

The news came just a day after Collins paid tribute to her father, former Genesis frontman Phil Collins, on his birthday. McDowell, meanwhile, is the son of actors Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen.

In her tribute post, Collins shared a heartfelt message:
"From a West Coast star to the West End stage and everywhere in between, I’m so grateful to be by your side—for the support, experiences, and love we share and will continue to share."

She accompanied her words with nostalgic photos, including one from 1999 at her Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony, where she stood beside her father at just 10 years old.

Born in Guildford, Surrey, and raised in Los Angeles, Collins began acting as a child. She rose to fame as the lead in Netflix’s hit romantic comedy Emily in Paris, where she plays Emily Cooper, an ambitious American marketing executive navigating her career and love life in Paris. In the most recent season, released last year, Emily relocates to Rome to open a new office.

The series is set to return for its fifth season, though the filming location remains a mystery.

Beyond television, Collins made her stage debut last year in Barcelona at London’s Duke of York’s Theatre, starring alongside Money Heist actor Álvaro Morte. She played Irene, a U.S. tourist who embarks on a whirlwind romance with a Spaniard named Manuel.
