Former Teen Heartthrob Is Nearly Unrecognizable in New Mugshot

Tom Welling, best known for playing Clark Kent on Smallville, appears nearly unrecognizable in a newly released mugshot following his arrest for an alleged DUI over the weekend.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, the former teen heartthrob—now 47—was taken into custody just after midnight on Sunday, Jan. 26, in the parking lot of an Arby’s in Yreka, California. Authorities suspected him of driving under the influence, with records indicating his blood alcohol level was allegedly at or above 0.08 percent, the legal limit for drivers over 21 in most states.

In the mugshot published by TMZ, Welling’s short, salt-and-pepper hair is a stark contrast to the thick, dark locks he sported during his Smallville days. His tight-lipped frown further distances him from the slightly crooked smile that once made teenage hearts flutter.

You may also recognize Welling from the Cheaper by the Dozen films, the 2005 remake of The Fog, or his role in Lucifer, among other projects. Most recently, he starred in Mafia Wars alongside Twilight’s Cam Gigandet.

Off-screen, Welling is a father of two with his wife, Jessica Rose Lee, who coincidentally celebrated her birthday on Sunday.
